When we arrive at Volterra, how do we find the hotel?
If you consult the road map that is on our web site you will notice that the hotel is located on the north side of the city (Pisa direction). Entering the medieval doorway of "Porta San Francesco", the hotel stands in a restricted traffic zone. Access is permitted for hotel guests to load and unload their luggage, but not to park.

Where is it possible to park?
As previously explained, hotel guests are permitted to enter the city centre even without the usual ?permit' but they cannot park along the city streets. We offer the possibility to park in the hotel garage which is situated just a few metres before the hotel entrance, with a daily supplement of Euro 11,00.
Should you not wish to take advantage of this service or should there not be places available, it is possible to deposit your luggage and proceed with your car to the numerous, convenient car-parks outside of the city wall (approximately two minutes away on foot from the hotel). During the summertime some car-parks will request a small daily charge.

Do you have rooms with views?
Owing to its central location and to the fact that the hotel was formally a convent, home to the "Clarissa" order of nuns (nuns of seclusion) the building does not afford external panoramic views.
Some rooms overlook the swimming pool, others face the characteristic Via San Lino, and others overlook a small internal courtyard to the side of the hotel which borders with a private residence.
It's possible to enjoy the view of Tuscan hills from our panoramic terrace, located on the medieval walls, in the garden of the pool area.

Do you have no-smoking rooms?
All rooms are non smoking, as well as common areas, according to the Italian law. If you wish to smoke, you can ask the availability of a room with a small terrace.

Do you accept animals?
All pets are welcome.

Is your restaurant always open?
Our restaurant "Le Monache" is open for all group bookings throughout the year. The restaurant is open to guests and to the public during the high season from May to September. During low season if there are no requests, the restaurant will remain closed.

What time are check-in and check-out, at what time is breakfast served?
Check-in is from 1,30pm approximately. We kindly request guests to check-out by 11,00am.
The buffet breakfast which is included in the room rate is served from 7,30am until 10,00am.

Do you provide an express laundry service?
We have an external laundry and dry cleaners who provide an excellent service and can normally guarantee deliveries within 24 hours. This service is not available at weekends.

Do you offer a fax or e-mail service?
The reception staff will be pleased to send any type of document by fax on your behalf. This service is offered with a small charge per page. There is no charge for receiving a fax.
Throughout the hotel is available free Wi-Fi. We also have a PC workstation with a printer at disposal of our guests.

Is access to the swimming pool free of charge?
Yes, access is completely free. The open air swimming-pool is situated on a small sun terrace on the internal side of the hotel. It has a constant depth of 1,50 metres and is open every day from sunrise to sunset from May to October (period may vary according to weather). Guests are kindly requested to observe certain rules regarding safety and behaviour.
Extra bathing towels can be obtained from the reception or alternatively can be taken directly from the rooms.
